Privacy Policy — runova

This policy explains what personal data Runova ("we", "us") collects when you use runnova.et (the "Service"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

The short version: we collect what we need to run a coaching and training community — your account, your training activity, and what you choose to share — and we don't sell any of it.

1. Data we collect

Account data. Your name, email address, username, and profile photo if you add one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

Training intake. When you request a plan we ask about your goals, race targets, weekly availability, experience level, and optionally your gender and age group so coaches can build an appropriate plan.

Training activity. Plans assigned to you, workouts and their completion status, streaks, distances, durations, and notes you attach.

Community content. Posts, reactions, hashtags, proof photos, event registrations, and (for coaches) plans, articles, and uploaded images.

Coaching relationship. Which coach you requested or joined, request and response timestamps, and the coach's evaluations of assigned work.

Technical data. Server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) kept for security and debugging, and aggregated, anonymous page analytics (our analytics is cookieless and does not track individuals; the only cookies we set are the strictly necessary ones that keep you signed in).

2. Why we process it

To provide the Service — authenticate you, show your plan, record workouts, connect you with your coach and crew (performance of our contract with you).
To let coaches coach — your accepted coach sees your intake answers, plan progress, and completions; that visibility is the product.
To keep the Service safe — abuse prevention, security logging, and debugging (legitimate interest).
To communicate — service emails such as verification, coaching requests, and important changes. We do not send marketing without your consent.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who can see what

Your profile (name, username, photo, streak) and the posts you publish are visible to other signed-in members.
Blog articles published by coaches are public.
Your intake answers and plan details are visible to you and your accepted coach, not to the community.
Admins can access data as needed to run and moderate the Service.

4. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records for legal, security, or dispute purposes. Images already delivered to caches may take longer to expire.

5. Your rights

Subject to applicable data protection law — including Ethiopia's Personal Data Protection Proclamation (No. 1321/2024) and, where it applies to you, the GDPR — you can:

access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
correct inaccurate data (most profile data you can edit yourself in Settings);
delete your account and data;
object to or restrict certain processing;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

6. Children

Runova is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes

We will post updates to this policy here and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
