Terms & Conditions — runova

Welcome to Runova ("Runova", "we", "us"). Runova is a community training platform where real coaches create training plans, assign sessions, and evaluate progress, and where athletes log workouts, build streaks, join events, and train together. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Runova website and services at runnova.et (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Runova

You must be at least 13 years old to use Runova. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for your account. Keep your password secure, and tell us immediately at runnova.et@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.

2. Not medical advice

Runova is a training and accountability tool, not a medical service. Training plans, workouts, articles, and any guidance from coaches on the platform are provided for general fitness purposes only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Consult a physician before starting any training program, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have been advised to limit physical activity. You train at your own risk, and you are responsible for exercising within your own limits. Stop and seek medical attention if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort.

3. Coaches and athletes

Coaches on Runova create plans, assign workouts, and evaluate the progress of athletes who join them. When you request a coach and they accept:

The coach can see your training profile, intake answers, assigned plan progress, workout completions, and related activity needed to coach you.
Either side can end the coaching relationship at any time from the app.

Coaches are members of the community, not employees or agents of Runova. We do not guarantee any training outcome, and we are not a party to any separate arrangement between you and a coach.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post on Runova — workout logs, posts, proof photos, comments, profile information, and (for coaches) plans, articles, and images.

By posting content, you grant Runova a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your completed workout to your crew, or publishing a coach's article on the blog).

You are responsible for what you post. Do not post content that:

you do not have the right to share;
is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit;
impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation;
contains malware, spam, or attempts to manipulate streaks or events.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or bypass authentication or access controls;
scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect other users' data;
reverse engineer or copy the Service to build a competing product;
use the Service to send unsolicited promotions;
interfere with the operation of the Service or other users' enjoyment of it.

6. Events

Runova may list community training events. Unless an event page says otherwise, events are organized by community members or third parties. Participate at your own risk and follow the organizer's safety instructions. Registration details you submit are shared with the event organizer.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses needed to wind down, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) survive.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — keep your own records of anything critical.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Runova will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for personal injury arising from training activities, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or ETB 5,000. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms over time. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before the new Terms take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you have in your country of residence.
